APPEARANCE
Lina stands at roughly 5'6" and weighs about 135 pounds. Her skin is peach in tone and cannot burn easily. As for her hair, it is light green in color and she likes to keep it long--it goes down to her waist. Lina also sometimes puts accessories in her hair, namely hair clips. Like her hair, her eyes are also green in color. Attire-wise, Lina likes to wear "artsy" clothing, particularly traditional oriental clothing (Chinese dresses, kimonos/yukatas, miko outfits, what have you), which she feels tends to fit both categories. She tends to wear dressy boots (as in, ones that probably wouldn't be worn if farming) or sandals, whichever better goes with what she's wearing. No matter the occasion, she will always be seen in one of those types of outfits.

HISTORY
It's rather hard to believe Alina ("Lina" as she preferred to be called) would ever end up becoming an artist or a treasure hunter. Born in a rather run-of-the-mill family in a small town, her parents were more interested in pursuing anything scholarly and hoped that their children would do the same. At first, Lina did follow the same path as her parents; however, her reason for doing so was because of her older brother, Cristian. Even though they were siblings, she had somewhat of a crush on him, though she could never admit such. Not to mention he had a girlfriend--a lovely lady by the name of Miriam. More than anything, Lina wanted her brother to compliment her for something she accomplished. However, no matter how hard she tried, he never said anything about her work.
And he never would.
When Lina was about nine years old, Cristian fell gravely ill. No matter how hard the doctors tried, they could not cure him. Eventually, he passed away, leaving Lina and Miriam heartbroken. For two weeks after his death, Lina stayed in her room and hardly ate a thing. She tried reading, but couldn't bring herself to do so. When she finally emerged, Miriam asked her to come to her place. Upon arriving, Miriam took Lina to her room, which was surrounded by many pieces of art. She then proceeded to tell the young girl how she and Cristian loved art and that he had kept this a secret from his parents, whom he knew wouldn't approve of this hobby. In fact, Cristian didn't care much for following his parents' footsteps; he only did it to satisfy them. Upon learning this secret, Lina decided to become an artist herself. To make sure her parents didn't find out, she asked Miriam to teach her privately. Miriam agreed to do so, and thus began Lina's life as an artist.
Years passed since Cristian's death, and both Lina and Miriam were surprised to discover Lina had an affinity for art. She was very good at painting, drawing, sculpting, and so forth. But that wasn't the only surprise Lina received that year. One day, as she went by a riverbank to draw the scenery, she saw a frog sitting on a rock. Still quite childish in nature, Lina tried catching the frog. Eventually, she did catch it, but as she looked at it, she felt a strange sensation. All of a sudden, Lina felt extremely dizziness and lost consciousness. When she awoke, everything seemed bigger, almost as if she shrunk. And upon trying to walk, she found that she could only hop, and in a quadrupedal manner, for that matter. Eventually, she made it to the riverside, and to her surprise found that she had turned into a green frog! At first, Lina freaked out, but the feeling was short as a fly flew by. Immediately she whipped her tongue out and nabbed the fly, then proceeded to eat it. Of course, Lina didn't want to live her life as a frog, and wished she could be human again. As if by magic, she got her wish and returned to normal.
Well, relatively normal, at least.
Since that incident, Lina found that she had sudden cravings for flies every now and then, and would try to catch them with her tongue (which was much too short, of course). She also liked hopping around (though on two feet) on occasion. Finally, she found she could swim around more easily and hold her breath underwater much longer than she originally could Her parents and Miriam were very perplexed by these sudden habits, but Lina never told a soul. Eventually, she discovered she could switch back and forth between her frog form at will, which was quite convenient. After all, as she was very small, so she could sneak in or out of a building and eavesdrop on people without them finding out. Most of the time, she spied on her parents, who, as she expected, were pretty boring. However, one day, as she was listening in on their conversation, she overheard them talking about her! They stated how Lina wasn't as indulged in books as she used to be, and that she had been hanging out with Miriam more than usual. Of course, Lina didn't want her cover blown, that much was for sure. She didn't want Miriam to be blamed for her--or Cristian's--interest in the arts, either.
That night, Lina packed whatever she could and snuck out of her home. She then went to Miriam's place and grabbed her palette, pencil, eraser, and sketchbook to take with her. She then left the town and headed east. After a day had passed, Lina ended up in May Falls. The settlement had quite a welcoming feeling to it, not to mention there was plenty of lovely scenery she could draw, so she decided to stay there for however long she pleased. During her first week in May Falls, Lina came across a piece of jewelry someone probably dropped by accident near the ocean. She deemed it an artistic piece of work and decided to keep it in case she found a use for it in her art. Since that discovery, Lina decided to become a treasure hunter and search for treasure--be it plain or extraordinary--to use for her art.
And he never would.
